Beautifull! Nice shape!
It is a beauty! I look forward to when itâs available.
That site says itâs light orange. Is that a correct description of the original?
Lydia, I believe the right colour should be mainly yellow as the one on the picture from Sweden, and surely not orange.

Two fine CG had arrived today.
The bad thing is though, that the next days the night temperatures will be too cold for planting them outside. Down to -8 degrees (17,6 F)!!
Looking good.
Can you plant them in a pot and take them inside?
If not you can sent them to me haha. joking
Timo
They look to be in good shape. Did they arrive from out of the country?
Well if you dream of using Cl
Nice, iâm going to order tonight!

Timo thatâs great news
As one of the CG I got, havenât shown any sign of life yet, I perhaps also need to order one more, so itâs nice to know it is possible.
Thanks for your info.

I was looking at CG lineage, and Im wondering if it is where the abundance of blooms of the Bright Smile line of roses got itâs liberal nature. (Examples: Baby Love , Freedom, Tequila Sunrise, Pretty Lady, etc). My theory is that CG is represented in this line through CGâs hybrid, Illumination, which gave rise to Yellow Ribbon-- one of the first roses to have a lot of chlorophyll in the petals Some Bright Smile lines also have the chlorophyll, and Yellow Ribbon is short, much like Bright Smile, for a floribunda. pic for reference to be found in Random house Books- Roses.
Anyways⌠I think CG snuck into more modern roses than we thought.
Jadae I sadly donât have or know much about any of the roses you mentioned here and am also unsure of what âthe Bright Smile lineâ is.
On HMF I can see though that CG works well as seed parent. Arthur Bell, Honeymoon and Illumination are from crosses with CG as female parent.
In a other post I saw you mentioned that âthe Bright Smile lineâ works best as pollen parent, but I donât if this could have any connection to your post.
Much of the âmodernâ rose in CG I think, must also come from Peace via Harmonie. I havenât seen any pictures of Harmonie, but it is mentioned on HMF as a shrub rose.

Bright Smile, and its kin, are important because of their sun-tolerant gold colors. If you list Bright Smileâs lineage, you will see. Even Pretty Lady, which is fairly dilluted, will throw decent yellows.
Many of the roses I spoke of can only be found in books, sadly, so donât feel left out or anything.
Ok, thanks for the info Jadae.
I mailed them but they are on vacation. Next week the owner is back and I cet to hear if the roses I ordered are still for sale. Fingers crossed!
Iâm proud to present to you:

Very special thanks to Rene!
Itâs in a 40 Liter pot in the backyard so I can look at it everyday. Tempatures will go to 0/+1 Celsius at night so it wouldnât be a problem. She looks very healthy and new canes are coming.
WONDERFULL!!
Thanks again for the people which arrange this!
Nice plant! Hope it gives you/us flowers this summer!
Hi Timo
Your CG is really looking very good!
The CGâs I got have been outside since November, and had just started with new canes, when hard night frost arrived late in March sadly. Hopefully it wonât set them back to much.
I also got CG via Rene. Hopefully he is all right.
