Really great crosses! It’ll be great to hear how they turnout.
There is always this year. That will be a stunning cross.

I have finally gotten around to beginning to photograph some seedlings. I promise to post more as they bloom. 07-58-1 is a Earth Song x Baby Love seedling. I really like the plant type, small and compact. The bloom is kind of interesting with cupped petals and will most likely have more petals to it when the plant matures a bit more.
Neat looking seedling! I love the star shape.

Cute Liz! Is it a mini?
I think so, but time will tell.
You’re lucky to get yellow out of that combination.
Yellows and oranges seem to be the seedling theme this year for me. There are also a few odd ball colors coming out as well.
Yellow and Orange are supposed to be the seedling theme for me this season but what I am getting so far is mostly Red.
Liz, 07-58-1:
07 = 2007
58 = crossnumber
1 = counting crossnumber 58
?
Timo, that is correct.
Baby Love can throw true crayon orange if combined properly. I have a fully double seedling of it, New Year x Baby Love, that is 100% true orange. I got some orange/yellow bicolors from Solitaire x Baby Love. Baby Love can prolly throw anything given the right combo or numerical chance, lol.
I have a few more blooms added to the album.
07-84-1 is a Simon Fraser x Roller Coaster seedling. I have a few seedlings from the cross and so far no striping, which is what I was after. For those of you not familiar with Simon Fraser, he seems to be a good seed parent, is disease resistant in my yard, and has some reasonable cold hardiness in zone 5.
07-67-1 is a Folksinger x Baby Love seedling that looks to be a mini. It is a prolific bloomer indoors.
07-30-3 is a Gemini x Distant Drums seedling. I have 3 from this cross that have bloomed so far and they all have picked up a bit of the Distant Drums coloration. They also seem to have nice plant form as seedlings.
There will be more photos posted within the week as I have several other seedlings ready to bloom.
Liz
Those are fun crosses Liz. I used Distant Drums for pollen for the first time last season. I have seedlings coming along.
Is ‘Gemini’ hardy up there?
Gemini is not exactly hardy. My plans for the Gemini crosses are to use them with something like William Baffin or John Cabot or a seedling involving one of these.
Here are a few more seedlings on their second or third bloom.
07-31-1 is a gemini x baby love seedling that is a single mini.
07-77-1 is a jean kenneally x simon fraser seedling that is a mini. I have several other seedlings from this cross and is definitely a cross that I am going to repeat this year.
07-22-1 is a morden sunrise x everest double fragrance seedling. I really like the color of this bloom. The first bloom had more petals, but had the same colors. I can not wait to see what the blooms look like on a more mature plant grown outside.

Nice Liz. I like 07-31-1 and 07-22-1. Any fragrance?
Yeah, 07-22-1 is one of my favorites this year and yes it does have fragrance. I’m hoping to cross it to the Morden Sunrise x Home Run seedling that had orange tones. That seedling looks like it is a decent seed parent. 07-31-1 has got great colors and the blooms last a long time. I really hope that it is a clean mini that works as a seed parent.
There is a Prairie Harvest seedling that is probably my other favorite. I’ll post a bloom of it when it gives me a chance.
Oh, and I was able to get set up on HMF, thanks for the offer of help and advice.

Interesting Jadae, one of the great things about breeding roses is that we are all working in such different directions.
I do all germinations out of doors as well. I don’t have to worry about cold but I do have to think about wind and vermin.
Robert and Jadae, I am just a wee bit jealous that you both can do all of your germinations outdoors. I always enjoy looking at the crosses that other members make because I usually end up going to HMF to learn about some of the parents. Bukavu and Roar! for example. Jadae, I suspect that you are well acquainted with the breeder??? Great yellow rose, by the way.
