Andy, please do me a favour. When you write that you used ‘Bull’s Eye’ please make it two words and not one, like my own seedling’s name. I don’t want my seedling to be associated with that one in any way. ICRA should NEVER have approved such a close name. ‘Bullseye’ is NOT a synonym for ‘Bull’s Eye’ (or vice versa).
It ok, Andy… I didn’t mean to sound so narky… I am just getting tired of defending my rose around the interent because people cannot differentiate between the two names. People have point blank told me my rose has terrible disease resistance… which is funny since they were in the U.S. and I am in Australia and it hasn’t been released yet. I am currently talking with ICRA-Rosa to see if the problem can be rectified.
Dr Huey x Carefree Copper. One good hip out of less than 10 pollinations. With luck the offspring will have the vigor of Dr. H, plus the winter hardiness and thorns of C.C. We can call it Copper Hooey and sell as a deciduous pyracantha.
Probably my oddest one is Falling in Love X Unconditional Love. FIL is THE thorniest rose I have and I crossed it with a mini moss. You all are looking for thornless and unintentionally I went the other way. I never even thought about how thorny the offspring could be, lol!
I also crossed Candy Land X Red Intuition looking for stripes and I tried Koko Loco X Eyeconic Pink Lemonade for their odd colors. We’ll see what happens!
