Did I pass?
Testing the bold italic underline buttons[sup]superscript[/sup].
Why would someone need a [sub]subscript[/sub]?
X( this is going to be obnoxious. Can we get rid of the smilies?

Definitely get rid of smilies.
You can also get rid of the cutsie animation. I don’t deliberately add it and find it annoying. Too much like Rosarian’s Corner.
I agree. Too much animation is distracting. So, I don’t see the smiles anymore - they must have not liked our comments!
I really like this forum already! TWO THUMBS UP!!
Now, I just need to get a flicker account.

Even on high speed, the animation tends to slow things down, particularly if I access it on AOHell and frequently now on Explorer. Firefox has cleared all that extraneous programming and things flow QUICKLY. The animations are distracting and annoying, though.
I’m liking the email notifications. I’m not sure if it’s something I have to set, but the notices include a url to copy and paste. Blogger provides clickable links, as does Facebook. Those would be nice inclusions if they’re possible without too much hassle or expense. If they’re settings I haven’t found yet, I apologize. Thanks. Kim
Gone for good.
You can change your personal preference in your Control Center, under “Forum Settings” then “Which follow-topic options should be selected by default?”.
Hmmm. Mine are clickable although the email is plain text. Maybe a setting in your local email client?
Thank you. Mine is set to “default” and it does email me notices. I’ll have to play with AOHell to see if something there permits the clickable links as they occur in Facebook and Blogger. You guys rock! Thanks for these changes. It really upgrades the site and forums. It’s looking better and better! I’ll also have to see if there is a setting which permits a reply by email like Facebook does. That would save a good deal of time and switching back and forth between browsers.
I’m Facebook illiterate. Could you explain what you mean by this?
When someone comments on my “wall”, like commenting on a thread I’ve begun here, the site sends an email with the comment and allows me to simply reply to the email notice to reply to the comment. So, you would receive an email generated by this response. To respond to this comment, you would be able to simply reply to the email notice. I hope I put it so it makes sense. I’m not really Facebook “literate”, as I don’t use it much, but that’s really the one feature I find the most useful about it. Otherwise, it’s a waste of time and an enormous invasion of privacy to me.
The answer is: maybe. It is not a feature that is currently enabled for reasons mostly having to do with spammers and security but also with the fact that this account is on a shared server so configuration is difficult.
If there is sufficient interest among the members here then it might be possible to do some integration with Facebook. There would need to be enough Facebook users to warrant the effort.
OK, thanks for the explanation. It isn’t a necessity by any means, but a potential convenience, IF it was simple and cheap enough to accomplish. Please don’t include me in the Facebook users to establish your count for any potential Facebook integration. I resent how invasive FB is set up to be and wouldn’t want any further potential for it to invade. Thank you for all you’re doing. It’s great!
testing
OK, all settings where I receive my Facebook notices are now identical for the RHA notices and they’re still sent copy and paste without the ability to click on the link to access the forum. NOT a complaint, simply information. Perhaps it’s something in the way the forum interfaces with AOHell? Nothing for you to do, simply information. Your two “testing” messages came through and out of curiosity, I responded to one to see what would happen.
So now everyone knows my middle name, but perhaps not my first. At least I can log in from the hinterlands
Hi Linda,
Welcome to the new RHA forum! Under your profile you may choose to add a signature if you like that makes it easy to identify yourself.
You can never have too many smilies
Now I can see how confusion arises. My browser automatically signs Linda’s name to e-mails from this account. But
I am logging in using the suggested format which is my university name ldavis. If I could figure out how to create a signature I would.

Thank you for eliminating the animated smylies-drives me nuts, and so unprofessional looking.
Whew , I finally managed to get in! Yes, agree with eliminating the emoticons; believe in that old maxim, “less is more.” I too would prefer to have nothing to do with facebook.
For all involved in setting this up, I just want to say a big THANK YOU! I know a lot of time and work went into doing this. Appreciate the heightened security.
