Pax Apollo Gushings

Wow the American pioneer prairie hybridizers’ creation sure got it right in some key attributes for me.

… not a Hollywood photo, no blooms showing, but got bud, bud, and more bud out the ears.

Photo img today shows Niels Hansen’s old1935 rose Pax Apollo and it has bloom density (florets), stature, and thornless attributes right for my goals. And true hardy so far. Too bad past observations say no hips. Have to give both ways a whirl this season.

Once bloomer but my season short SDGAS.

Must be in part due to the Manitoba blanda pollen contribution …

Had to go across the mid Atlantic ridge to find a commercial source - find good pickings over there for those history inclined.

Now the question of borers …. his Lillian half height this season.
