Ole, Sven, and Lena

Maybe there’s a Lars in here? Lots of buds forming.

Some nice fragrance and vigor on these, I will definitely have some to plant out in my garden bed this year. I have four or five that have incredible vigor but no buds yet.

That dark double flower is LOVELY. :frowning_with_open_mouth::green_heart::+1:

Snowball, derived from Sven, incredible vigor. Used its pollen on some stuff this year and looks like I got hips on Music Box, Crown Princess Margereta, and Duchesse de Montebello.

An OP from Ole getting planted out in my mixed bed. Lots of rebloom on these roses desendents.

Snowball looks like an excellent plant! The pollen fertility sounds very promising, too. I wonder if it is also workable as a seed parent.

I just received Ole and Lena this year, and am excited to have an almost complete set to play around with (sorry, Sigrid, whoever you are!) That Ole is seed fertile is another good sign of future utility. None of them has been perfectly healthy here, but all seem to have excellent survivability despite that.

Yes, I also found the seeds germinate very readily as well. I plan on working with them more, and even most of the seedlings that weren’t fit to keep were just fine to give away as bedding perennials. There are large beds of them here at the Lyndale garden so if I get there at the right time I have basically unlimited OP seeds in a garden with many different roses. I have read here that they are less likely to self.

My favorite of the OP seedlings this year, healthy and vigorous, on its third flush.
