First germinations of 2026!

I have a big growing issue for the first time. The seedlings are same size for 4 months. I used soil which was labeled with 100 days of vertilizer but they do nothing. After a while I stepped over to the soil I used laat year. But they not growing. It is a sad sight and feels like a useless year. Previous years I had maybe 500 seedlings but it is bad now. I think I just going to toss everything away.

Sorry to hear that. I hope some prove you wrong or you still have enough of previous years seedlings healthy to play with. I’m much smaller scale than you but the season before this one I had about 15 germinations and they were all sickly. Nearly stopped!

How is this progressing? I think some of my not culled roses are Charles De Mills X rose de rescht. Out of the 3 I think are this. One has no mildew, no blackspot and perfect form. Will take pictures soon to update you guys

Follow up on the EZBZ Knock Out x True Passion seedling. It’s semi-double after all.

Despite baking in this tiny terra cotta pot all summer it’s still managed to put out blooms and healthy foliage. The color is like in the first picture but smartphone color-correction really struggles to capture it. It’s a lot more saturated in person.

Can I ask what crosses these are? The first and last ones look like spins to me. They all look great!

It will all be educated guesses (I no longer mark or record my crosses. I just collect and plan and have back up plans. I find I get a lot more pollinating done that way and treat seedlings more equally. It really helped me enjoy it more (also get a lot more plants). I typically overdo things to a point of ruining them. I think if I had more time I would record it all but yeah life gets in the way! So one is Aicha X Mon Amie Claire or Paula Vapelle. Another is Indigo X Mon Amie Claire or Paula Vapelle and the last one is the biggest guess (could be about 10 things). But from my trials and eye it’s Charles De Mills X Rose De Rescht
