F3 Hybrid Rosa Virginiana Seedlings

Rob, Elara and Mimas are two which give awsesome repeat to their offspring, plus when they are blooming new shoots are breaking away lower down for the next repeat cycle way before they open. This makes these rose,s having the ability to bloom endlessly. They are very special.

Seedling O4 P26 is a (Mimas X R.virginiana ) X Robe Fleurie. Robe Fleurie’s breeding is Serpent Vert X Ballerina, which has an interesting mix of R. arvensis, R. wichurana and Hybrid musk. All the seedlings from this cross are displaying this glauca type colouring to their foliage.

The second seedling O18 P20 is a (Baronne ed Rothschild X Mme C Testou) X Sympathie X (Mimas X R. virginiana). It is also displaying bluish foliage colouring with good vigour.

A Rosa virginiana Hybrid I crossed with the rose "Robe Fleurie, I am very happy with the growth of this little seedling. This seedling should perform well as it has a combination of , Hybrid Musk, R. arvensis, R. wichurana and R. virginiana.

Seedling O11 P47, Valkeeri X P47 has finally opened.

Valkeeri is an attractive rose. This is where it gets its’ color from? What is P47? It looks like it has that very nice texture that R.virginiana gives. How close to the virginiana is it?

Here are a couple of seedling which are growing well.

The first seedling is O3 P10 , a F2 Virginiana hybrid X seedling of Princesse Violette.
The second seedling is O10 P56 , Great southern Skies X F1 Virginiana Hybrid.

I think introducing Hybrid Multiflora and Hybrid Musk genes into Hybrid Virginiana has been beneficial .

This would have to be the thorniest F3 Virginiana Hybrids I have bred seedling O18 P47 type 4. Thorns look almost like canina.

Warren do all Virginiana throw thorns or it it what you crossed it with.

David most Virginiana hybrids even the F1 have moderate thon numbers. The other seedling from this cross have normal rose type thorn numbers, looking at this particular seedling you might think it had some spinosissima in its breeding.

O18 P47 BLOOM.jpg

This is the first flower for this little seedling, although the quality of the bloom could be better, it shows that will develop into a very full double. Seedling is Disco Lemonade X [(Sympathie X R. virginiana) X Elara]
