Experience with R. arkansana?

Thanks for the information about Solitaire, Mike. Because I like to work with species crosses (many that are difficult, if not nearly impossible), I’m always interested in easy seed parents, especially yellow ones.

I’ve added a picture that shows the foliage of the ‘Fragrant Cloud’ X carolina F1, so that you can see how it takes after carolina.

Here’s that link again:

And I’ve added current season foliage pictures of that mildew-resistant seedling from (‘Fragrant Cloud’ X carolina) X ‘Carefree Sunshine’

And at the risk of getting even farther off of the topic of the thread… speaking of ‘Baby Love’ and disease resistance… I’ve got two lines starting up from Rosa davidii… from which ‘Baby Love’ supposedly derives some of its disease resistance. And bringing it back, closer to the original topic… one of these, is Rosa davidii X V3 (the virginiana mentioned much earlier in the thread).

hah! very nice. I noticed something with both Baby Love and PRetty LAdy (Rosa davidii and the same breeder). Sometimes they’ll give a random single-petaled magenta seedling.
