Just riddled with PM! Compost. Huzzah.
Also yanking the prickliest of the OP rugosa ‘Alba’ seedlings, and trying to guess which less blood-thirsty remaining ones might be hybrids.
This OP seedling of ‘Abraham Darby’ germinated last year, flowered this year (lovely pale yellow double, tea-scented/aging to sweet lychee) but didn’t do much growth so I tipped out the one-gallon id put it in this spring. There were no roots at the base or sides of the soil ball, so I poked it.
Dammit. No roots, ya got nothin’.
Into the compost.
