I do not think the ‘vigor’ came from Angel Face. Several yrs. ago I picked several incredibly beautiful hips from Angel Face, and got 120 seeds. Could not resist. I got so many seedlings that I thought some seeds had germinated twice. And then they started to grow (or more likely not) and I do not think that I even got one flower to full flowering stage. This was the sickliest, puniest, most mildew infested group of seedlings ever-but those hips had this ‘pick me’ sign on them. Shortly thereafter I started to notice all these derogatory names (Angel Farce, Angel Farts, you get it?) on RHA forum and totally understood the implication. Whatever Neptune got its’ vigor and health from, you can guarantee it did not come from the Angel.

Clearly the atmosphere here has changed, and not for the better, when someone would choose to refer to any other participants as “idiots” in public discussion. There’s no excuse for that. I don’t need this nonsense. I’m going to avoid any future involvement with the RHA forum.

This thread has been problematic for me from its beginning. Each forum has its own culture and tone and I think its takes new posters awhile to learn that. While learning, they need to tread gently.
I saw this happen on Garden Web and many experienced rose growers wers driven off by newbies who came busting in full speed ahead. The Rose Forums in Garden Web in my personal opinion have never recovered.

Sandandsun, you have only been posting since the 19th and have already with some of your strong language caused problems. No, the posters on this forum are NOT IDIOTS.Most have many years experience in growing and hybridizing roses; many are trained in horticulture, and many have advanced degrees and for many hybridizing roses is a profession, though in most cases part time.
My credentials? Started gardening at four and I am months short of 75, have 3 college degrees including a Doctorate, and presently have over a hundred rose bushes and have propagated hundreds of cuttings. Most of the posters on here are my teachers and I have never until this time used such strong language to a poster as you have done since you came on. By the way, I have been a paid member for many years on the RHA. We are all here to learn and though differences are expressed they should be expressed in gentle tones.
No, I am not an idiot and neither are the other posters on this forum. Neither do I think you are an idiot, but a wise person learns to temper their language, especially when they are new to a forum.

No one will be asked to leave this forum unless they are vulgar and truly offensive! This has never happened, and I hope it NEVER will! All I ask is that we be civil, respect the rights of others to post, and if you disagree with their opinions just remember that we have posters of all backgrounds, experience, climatic growing zones, etc., and they are merely stating them from their point of view. Just say OK, and post your own opinion if you wish, but let it end there and let us all move on.
