Anyone able to acquire this rose? Any experiences with it. She is not in commerce anymore I think. I’d love to obtain her.
Good luck. Only Vintage Gardens had it when I sought it in the early nineties and they could never produce it. It always sounded interesting and the few photos of it I saw in those years never resembled what I saw in my mind’s eye of the “white with red reverse” printed description.
Good news for you! I found the rose Rudolph Timm in the Rosarium Sangerhausen rose list, which means that the rose will most likely still exist there in the collection. It is quite common that the Rosarium sends in the next season scions for grafting or takes on contract graftings.
If you are interested, pls contact for further assistance: Madeleine.Dubiel@stadt.sangerhausen.de
I hope I could help.
I’ve sent an email Thank you.
Of course, very welcome at any time. I really hope it works!
I’ve had a reply. I can take contact next year in spring. I’m very happy about that.
Apparently Rosarium Sangerhausen is really dedicated to conserving rare and lost species and therefor they send out scions for grafting. Only of roses that aren’t available in commerce anymore.
Thank you very much for this great news!
Rosarium Sangerhausen has the largest collection of roses in the world. On 13 hectares there are more than 8,600 different rose varieties with 80,000 rose bushes, with increasing tendency. Therefore, they support other rosariums, rose breeders and of course rose lovers nationally and internationally if needed, when varieties went lost or as you already mentioned are no longer commercially accessible.
The Rosarium Sangerhausen is also in the process of establishing a gene bank of their own stock.
