'Wild Thing

Has any one worked with ‘Wild Thing’ It is a Jackson and Perkins single to semi-double. I was not overly impressed with its blooms some looked like they faded from coral/pink to almost white (ugly). It was in a pot at Lowe’s, does it improve as it matures? The architecture and foliage is nice supposed to have good disease resistence. How does it do as a pollen parent, seed parent, germination rates and seedling viability?

Thanks

David

I have skipped over all J/P groundcover types involving Roller Coaster. Further, its triploid. In my personal opinion, one could find a better triploid groundcover to use for breeding. Theyre hit or miss as pollen parents, but they can work out well.

I haven’t been impressed with it when I’ve seen it. I much prefer Wild Dancer. I like the disease resistance, performance, plant colors and breeding. I like the same from Pride of Oakland, too. I haven’t gotten anything from Wild Dancer worth noting yet. I did have this some from Lynnie X Pride of Oakland. It’s not stopped flowering and hasn’t shown any disease in this record year of infection. Kim
