I found these maybe seedlings growing near my Rosa blanda rose. I did leave hips on over winter the last two winters and while it’s not like being out in the country there a lots of birds and mammals that will mess with or eat the hips.
The question is since they has 5 leaves on each branch could they be a R. blanda seedling or is probably just a weed? The second photo is of my R. blanda foliage for reference. Thanks for any thoughts.

If they are roses, their foliage should have stipules. Do these seedlings have stipules?

Compare to black locust tree seedling, if they grow in your area. I don’t have such and am not very familiar with them, but the look of your seedling is consistent with some Fabaceae, and that appears to be a relatively common one that matches, best I can tell.

Interesting, so not a rose although as far as I know there are no black locust anywhere near me. We have a dogwood in this yard but there is another tree that might be in the locust family but is thornless and has tiny flowers. It does have those very large long seed pods.
Ah, I did some searches of the trees NYC was planting on city blocks in the era of this neighborhood and I believe it’s a Thornless Honey Locust. Looks a lot like a Black Locust. So I think that’s solved, thanks everyone.
