When to harvest R. woodsii hips?

This year I use R. woodsii as the seed parent, pollinate in April 24 and I found the hips turn orange in June 26. Shall I collect them now and then extract the seeds for cold stratify, or collect them later? If I collect and stratify, would the seedlings survive in an unheated greenhouse during winter?
Another question is how long should I stratify R. woodsii seeds? I sow a lot of OP seeds this spring, with stratify for about two months, but the germination rate seems not high. Shell I stratify them for a longer time?

Unless it ripens quickly like Minutifolia, then drops, my rule of thumb is approximately 120 days from pollination. If the peduncles appear ready to release before then, take then then. If you’re weather is going to turn very bad before then, take them. Otherwise about three months from pollination works well. Others probably have other criteria.
