Double Trouble

It would be triple trouble, but Beau is too blind to see them so he sits waiting to be fed.

Kim what do they see in them ? and why, has it become a game ?

Nice pups!

Well, on a positive note they’ll get plenty of vitamin C. On a less positive note, they may discover why various native peoples referred to rose hips as “itchy bum”. Apparently it’s due to those little hair-like things around the seeds. Not sure what they’re called.

I give ripe hips (less seeds and ‘seed hairs’) to my dogs and they love them. It’s become special treats. They seem to especially like rugosa hips.

Thank you. They LOVE tomatoes and think the hips resemble them. I’ve been very careful not to pick the fruit from the plants and give them to the dogs right there so they associate the treat with the fruit. I wait until we get indoors where I will squash them slightly so they smell like tomatoes. They’re sniffing and licking the fruit and hips, expecting them to taste and smell like the ones they’re given, but they don’t so licking is as aggressive as they have become with them. I’m an INTIMATELY familiar with the “itchy bum” and stomach, arms, thighs…you name it, Donald! They’re as awful as messing with fiberglass or steel wool!

Kim a new way of pre stratification? Now you have to follow them around when nature calls

Uh…no. Fortunately, I have a “scooper”, so they do what they need, when and where they decide and I “find” it later! LOL!
