Thanks to many

I don’t think this comes up enough, but I would like to thank some of the RHA members that have generously shared advice, plants, cuttings, pollen and seeds.

Specifically, thanks to Kim for the garden full of cuttings, Jackie, Paul Barden, Larry Davis, Robert Rippetoe for cuttings plants and pollen. Somebody mention a while back that Kim is the Santa Claus of the RHA, but there are a bunch of elves making this hobby very rewarding. This forum has made breeding roses very rewarding. I’ll never be Bill Radler, but I really don’t care. I’m just having a good time trying to figure what the next cross will be and speculating the “what if.”

You’re welcome Jeff! It’s my pleasure! You know how much fun it is knowing someone else is enjoying touching and studying something you’ve shared. I use your lovely wooden clock all the time here in the den where my lap top lives. As Ralph always said, you can’t keep everything, and he was right! I’d much rather have these things out there in others’ hands to play with than to simply let them slide into oblivion.

Along those lines, in case it’s hidden where someone might not see it, I hijacked Jim’s thread about the fragrant Rugosa to make another offer. I’ve had one response, so there is one MORjerry, 3 Fire’n Spice and 3 Moore Bouquet available at this link. . Scroll down to the post to find all the information and photos.

Great post, Jeff. I could name some benefactors who have sent me plants, seeds and pollen and it would probably embarrass them. Suffice it to say that I am very thankful to RHA “Santas” in Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Kansas and California. Seeds are germinating, F2 generations are developing, and there will be new (rosy) faces in the garden this year because of you!

I have to agree with you Jeff!! I have more gifts - plants, pollen, advice - from RHA members than I can count. I don’t think I would be seeing the results I am seeing without all your help.

Thank you to all the RHA Santas and Elves.

If I ever breed anything really nice over half the credit will be earned by someone other than me. From ideas, plants and pollen so much is from others. I think of it as stewardship. I am getting help now and pretty soon I will be able to help someone else out. Like this year is the first year I will be really sending anything the other way and it feels nice.
