Is there a standard colour chart used to describe the colour of roses? If so is there somewhere to see it? I find it hard to describe the colour of roses for some reason and it might help me to have a colour chart against which I can match colours. E.g. I have a rose I am trialing whose colour, in hexadecimal language (LOL) is described as deep pink (#ff1493… a tad darker than this)… but this isn’t web design …would make things some much easier if there was a chart…
Yeah, some British colo(u)r chart is used. R.H.S Colopur Chart, which is what is used in most patent claims.
btw, you sound like my gf. She showed me a joke in javascript yesterday =( …I didnt get it.
shrugs… I’ve been writing scripts and doing web design now for… um… around 17 years… If only roses were as easy and logical LOL
WOW! It’s $$$$$

Good search results Simon. You’d think this would be something that they wouldn’t charge for…make it available online.
I guess they can’t make it available online as they can’t guarantee the calibration of people’s printers and screens would match their own printing system calibrations and give the same renditions of each colour. Colour charts are always expensive though. I remember looking at buying the pantone colour charts and nearly dropped dead with shock then too.
Hi Simon,
When I want to use the color charts I go to a library that has them and I bring my samples in and use them. Hopefully you have a library nearby that has them.
That’s a good idea :)P
Simon, the colour charts are quite extensive, so are probably worth it, but as David notes, if you have access to a library copy, it can be had for free.
It was definitely not this expensive when I bought it - inflation!
