'Sky's the Limit'

I don’t see much information about the performance of Carruth’s yellow Climber ‘Sky’s the Limit’ and nothing about its breeding potential. I understand it is quite fertile as a pistillate parent though. I’ve thought of crossing it with Rosa laxa to develop a breeding line for relatively cold hardy (Zone 3 - 4), yellow Climbers.

I would think that it would be difficult to pass on the yellow it holds. I am also unsure that this yellow offers anything better over other yellows.

Why would you think so?
