Seedless rosehips? Do they exist?

Recently I came across a fb picture of a seedless apple. I had no idea they existed. Appearantly they can be bred. Something about recessive genes.
So I’m wondering if the same has occured in roses? Would anyone know of a rose cultivar that actually sets hips but without seeds in it?

Actually, quite a few roses set empty hips. Grow the old Irish Elegance. It sets hips randomly and in many decades of growing it, I’ve only found three seeds. It won’t accept any pollen I’ve ever applied to it. Arkansana Woodrow is also quite adept at setting empty hips. I’m sure with time, more will surface from my memory, but yes, there are “seedless” roses.

Yes!
Augusta Luise makes lots of huge OP hips that stay green. I gathered a bunch of them two years ago: not a single seed inside.

Oh, and in a coastal climate, Mermaid sets quite a few empty hips. In hot, inland climates, it sets no hips.

Never had zero seeds hips, except the odd cross.

But l did receive relatively speaking many, many hips, as in a lot, through a third party of “an eastern” origins arkansana plant, but grown in Alberta - type unknown.

I found it bizarre 99+% of the hips only held
1 small seed. The rest 2 seeds. Never 3 or more.

In the fridge.

In long-term observation, I have seen seedless rose hips on Rose de Rescht and Indigo every harvesting season.

Rosa sterilis ( R. longicuspis × R. roxburghii), set a lot of seedless hips. Called “Seedless thorny pears” in China and serve as fruits.

Every hip I get from de resht is seedless, all of my crosses formed hips… 15… All of them empty, was a sad time

I’m sorry about that. I only have a few hips per plant that are seedless. Nevertheless, don’t give up hope! Rose de Resht is undoubtedly a difficult seed bearer, so you will need a lot of patience to achieve a goal. Perhaps it was simply due to the weather conditions that your crosses failed, or the pollen parents did not match. Both are probably true. Just as an example, I have never had any luck with Rose de Resht and R. spinosissima hybrids as pollen donors. Unfortunately not with Indigo either.

Jacques Cartier is another prolific empty hip bearer in the Southern California inland valley climates.
