Kim… I have some honeysuckle growing around the base of one of my power poles, standing not more than a metre high and the council threatened to fine me if I didn’t clear around the pole… hefty fines too… maybe I should show this and tell them to build a bridge and get over it 
You can’t tell it, but there is a fifteen foot tall, dead Chinese Elm tree in there with a two and a half foot trunk the DWP killed with their “pruning”. It was there before the bougainvillea was planted and is now providing support for it. I think the DWP is leaving this alone because the street needs stablizing and they realize if they kill it, they’ll probably be liable for any movement. Either that or they’ll blame it on the same thing everything else is blamed on, “no money”, yet they can still give themselves another million dollar Christmas party!
