I hear that there was a banquet and awards ceremony for the first Rose Hills International Rose Trials held at The Westin Hotel in Pasadena, CA this past weekend. In attendance were all the big name rose hybridizers from around the USA and other locations in the world. Tommy Cairns moderated. I am curious as to why there was no one here making mention of the event - as in plans to attend or??? Was this an “invitation only” event?

There has never been any mention of this event on this forum or in any newsletter/meeting that I have read or attended. Must have been an “invitation only” event.
What caught my eye was one mention that I heard about a Japanese hybridizer showing off his garden (or where he works) of 75000 roses. It would have made a trip to CA tempting:)
