Great research also for all of us!

It is a nice surprise to learn that Eurofins put this webpage together! Thank you for sharing it Roseus. I’m very grateful for their and Axiom’s generosity to support this work. Here is a link to the abstract of the paper we did together with this data. SNP markers linked to sex in dioecious Rosa setigera Michx.

This paper talks about the direction and other parents in crosses with R. setigera that tend to work better when using R. setigera in breeding. http://www.globalsciencebooks.info/Online/GSBOnline/images/2013/FOB_7(1)/FOB_7(1)60-64o.pdf

Thank you so much for sharing the two very interesting publications. In the context of my breeding work, I have not yet had to deal with RRD. However, a very long time ago, before my breeding activities, I had this problem with two purchased roses which turned out to be infected with RRD very shortly after purchase, with clear symptoms like witches brooms and elongated shoots. Surely it was an infection by occulation due to lack of hygiene of the rose propagator. Since then I have been very selective in choosing reliable propagators when I buy parent roses. But unfortunately there is still no certainty. The trained eye should always be vigilant to react quickly to protect the other roses. All the more your research is invaluable to anyone working with roses!
