I noticed on HMF that you have/had Viru’s ‘Silver Dawn’ and I’m curious about what it’s like (as a garden plant; form, health, etc)? I’m interested in using ‘Bonica’ a bit and am curious about what results I might get when matched with really healthy roses. I’ve got hips forming now that are ‘Bonica’ x ‘Immensee’ and ‘Bonica’ x ‘Mutabilis’. I’m also interested in the fact it is a clinophylla hybrid.
Remember Robert is in Rancho Mirage. There are few places on this continent more “low desert” than this. Much of the time, any fungal problems are due to over crowding and lack of air circulation, where most roses will experience some problems. Planted out properly, I doubt if very many would have difficulties there, other than sun scald and desiccation. Kim
