Hybridizer Joe Winchel passed away Wednesday, April 23, at the age of 92. He created many popular exhibition varieties, including ‘Ain’t She Sweet’, ‘Agnes Winchel’, ‘Dolly Parton’, ‘Lynn Anderson’, ‘Rosie O’Donnell’, ‘The Temptations’, ‘Louise Estes’ and ‘Pearl’.
President emeritus of American Rose Society Howard Walters passed away on April 14 at the age of 75.
English rosarian Graham Stuart Thomas passed away April 16.

I didn’t know about Mr. Joe thank you so very much.
What a loss - they were an inspiration to hybridizers the world over. The legacy that they left will continue to inspire us whenever we see or use one of their roses in our hybridizing efforts. We were indeed fortunate and much richer to have had them in our midst, and we value the contribution they made to the hobby that we enjoy.
