Just a note to let everyone know that the California Coastal Rose Society’s annual rare rose auction will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Harding Community Center in Carlsbad, California.
This auction is CCRS’s only fundraiser for the year, and we are opening the auction up to internet bidding this year for the first time. Moreover, we will ship roses within the USA at the buyer’s expense (and at better times of the year, if need be). The rare roses that are up for auction are now listed on the web, in two lists – one for the live auction and one for the silent auction, along with the directions for submitting internet bids. Many of these roses are not available for purchase anywhere else in the U.S.
It is, however, much better to attend the auction in person, as, in addition to the rare roses that we put up on the website, we will also have a “bargain section” for not-so-rare roses for very low costs (maybe starting as low as $3 per rose), but, again, this bargain section is only for those people who show up in person, not internet bidders.
