R. webbiana crosses

I’ve just harvested two hips from the cross R. webbiana x Mons. Tillier. They ripened in about 80 days. It looks like I’m probably also going to get hips from some other R. webbiana crosses this year:

R. webbiana x Gilbert Nabonnand
R. webbiana x General Schablikine
Anytime x R. webbiana
Danae x R. webbiana
(Danae x Mutabilis) x R. webbiana
Gilbert Nabonnand x R. webbiana
Mons. Tillier x R. webbiana

I’ve done a few crosses with R. webbiana in the past, but never got any hips before. R. webbiana is native to dry valleys in the western Himalayas. It is perfectly healthy here. I’m hoping it will contribute genes for health, drought tolerance, and cold hardiness to my breeding program. Has anyone here gotten hybrid seedlings from R. webbiana?

Sounds like a great specie to experiment with. Anything with ‘dry valleys’ in their native habitat and scattered rebloom in their genetics should be explored. Perfectly healthy sounds good too. It looks like Robert Rippetoe has worked with it somewhat-would be interesting to see how far he went with it.

Where can one obtain webbiana in the US?

Does anyone here grow Webbiana? I’m trying to source seeds here in the EU but not having a luck so far.
