I note that Prairie Magic exists as breeding stock only. Is it the same as the one referred to as J5? How would one go about getting one of them?
I would also like to find a source for Prairie River and Arctic Nights.
I have also been trying to find a US or Canadian source for Austrian Yellow for the past three years. The only source for it is Vintage Gardens as a custom propagation. Does anyone have 1 or 2 suckers they would be willing to part with.
I am importing Gottfried Keller this spring and should have budwood in early 2012 if anyone is interested.
Thank you.
Rosa foetida is sold every year @ Home Depot, but the supplier seems to be one of those nameless 3rd world wholesalers from Texas.
Leonard,
Yes, ‘Prairie Magic’ and J5 are the same rose. If Margit ships rose material to you this year, I can arrange to have this rose included in the shipment.
‘Prairie River’ should be established at the Montreal Botanical Gardens rose garden before it gets shipped out of Canada. ‘Arctic Nights’ (my selection of op ‘Haidee’) is only available from the MBG rose garden. It hasn’t been established at the Devonian Botanic Garden rose garden yet but needs to be. Likely this cultivar is well established at the MBG rose garden and suckers might be available to you. I know you are intending to get rose material from the MBG in the near future.
Paul
Thank you very much Paul. Margit will be sending me suckers this year and I would love to get Prairie Magic in my garden.
