Ploidy of 'Sunrise Sunset', 'Persian Autumn', and 'Roses are Red

I obtained these new roses and confirmed that ‘Roses are Red’ and ‘Sunrise Sunset’ are triploids and ‘Persian Autumn’, which is advertised as producing a nice display of hips, is a tetraploid. I would love to get a sample of ‘Tigris’, a parent of the new Hulthemia hybrids, and see what ploidy it is.

Sincerely,

David

David…

I have Tigris. I’ll be more then happy to send you whatever you need. It’s starting to get new growth… I also have Nigel Hawthorne too, if you’re intrested. Just only that my Tigris is grafted, so I don’t think root samples are possible with my Tigris…

Wow, Persian Autumn is a tetraploid-- One would assume it would be a triploid. Assuming, of course, that the parentage is Tigris x (Anytime x Gold Badge). Thanks Jadae for that info…

Im hoping it is accurate. It was from the ARS magazine. Lets hope that they didnt mess up. Im not surprised of it is a tetraploid as Trier (a grandparent) is weird.
