Simon.
My OP R.clinophylla X R.bracteata seedling is about to flower for its first time. Two of its three flower buds look like they will open sometime in the next fortnight.
This plant has several very nicely balanced basal branches, and is about 1 foot high only. It has a beautiful shrubby symmetrical architecture at this stage of its life. It has no disease whatsoever, and is growing steadily, and shows no signs of growing out of control long canes. I selected it out from its other three siblings (which have all been culled now) because of these stand out attributes. Relatively early flowering has proved an added bonus.
Do you want this clinophylla X bracteata pollen sent to you?

These are my clinophylla x bracteata seedlings today:
Growing nicely. The tallest is about 20cm tall so far. Real habit won’t be revealed for some time I think. Mine is still in the greenhouse. All three are the same age believe it or not. I’ll hold off on the pollen for a while until it’s true form is better known I think.
Cheers,
Simon
About 10 of the Dr Basye line have come up. Still very small, just getting their first leaves. Over time will distribute these as well. I’m going to start culling the clinophylla down. I have about 80 seedlings. If any Australians watching this want to use it for breeding let me know at s.a.voorwinde at bigpond dot com . I won’t be sending it out for garden specimens. Breeders only. Sorry.
Hmmm… time I got hold of an outdoor camera I think…might be able to post pix of this little gem, I’ll try anyways.
