New EarthKind Rose???

Just received an email from a friend that said according to an article in the ARS magazine that Quietness was an EK rose. This article was written by Sally Holmes. Has anyone else heard this from a different source?

Quietness is a Dr. Buck Rose.

As far as I know, Quietness is in the Earth-Kind trials, but has not moved through all the testing necessary to have the data in hand and supporting that it merits earning Earth-Kind designation.

David, thanks for the prompt answer. Actually, I’m not aware of any EK trial gardens still in the test phase. We used to have several in the Dallas Metroplex . but they have been removed. We do have the pre EK trial garden in Farmers Branch however.

Has anyone used this rose? My understanding is that it is triploid, and probably not easy to use for breading, though likely a good repeat bloomer if it is sterile.

Quidtness seedset and germination are good.

A 2009 qt x lions rose is healthiest rose in our never been sprayed garden; double apricot blooms, form not great.

A couple of 2010 qt x carefree sunshine seedlings are keepers so far; one yellow, one apricot; both retained 90-100% foliage during peak of bs season here (ohio).

Qt big elegant ogr blooms havent showed up in any of its seedlings so far.

I have tried to use it but so far have not had any hips set either way. I will keep trying though!
