'Mrs. Simpson's breakthrough color breeding'

Regans has dropped their catalog this season, but sent out a mailing with some interesting roses.

‘Chocolate sundae’ caught my eye.

“Using the breakthrough color breeding of Mrs. Simpson of New Zealand, Meilland/Star developed this very unique tobacco brown climber. It successfully recreates in the garden the strong brown colors developed for florist roses. Unfortunately it will only perform its best in the forgiving climates of Californi, and is not recommended for climates where roses require a lot of tender loving care.”

Does anyone know anything more about Mrs. Simpson, her breeding program and about this brown rose?

Nola Simpson, I think. See link below.
