Moondance x Blush Noisette

I have never used Blush Noisette in a cross before, which seemed to be a shame because it has great fragrance and health. Mine is located on a south facing hill just beyond my hose and I usually just spray it from a distance, it rarely gets fertilized, but it has never shown any problems. Most modern roses would have given up in that location long ago. So this past yr I crossed it with several very different seed parents and I am happy with the results. The crosses with Moondance as the seed parent are all starting to bloom, and they look like they will be very pale, pastel pinks and vanillas, all so far with the Blush Noisette fragrance and vigor and multiple buds, but much larger than Blush Noisette.

The focus is awful on this flower, but this is typical of the plants and buds. It looks like the plant size will vary alot.

Looks nice. I’d be shocked if it did not climb, given the background of both sides.

One of the above pictured does look like it might be gearing up to spread at least. Several of them look quite petite and with closely held foliage with small leaves. One of the dumber crosses I tried with Blush Noisette was with Thornless wichurana. They all look like clones on the same steroid and at this very moment are climbing out of their pots, all 32 of them. And they all have thorns, beaucoup, and way to late I saw the size of some of the same cross done at Texas A&M. BIG.
