I raised several seedlings from my poly-noisette (for which, I intend to create a new class, either “poly-ette” or “Noiseiantha”, open for votes, btw!) Too Cute with various pollen parents. The one plant I retained is called “Too Cute Child” as it’s a combination of Too Cute X Julia Child.
The “baby pictures” on HMF show what it was originally. After being chomped several times by the next door neighbor’s blamed squirrel, it’s finally shot up a basal with two buds. Here is what has opened from the first one over the past three days. The weather hasn’t been conducive for fragrance, nor have my sinuses and I’m not detecting any from this bloom.
What’s that? Three and a half to four inches? Yes, it does look very Pink Powderpuff-ish, but has no relation to it. Muriel is flowering out back, BTW.
Thanks, and it’s only because my dermatologist is as good as he is that my hands have ANY skin on them! Those shots were taken while moving this Japanese Cork Oak

down five feet of stairs, around the back of the house, up eight feet of stairs to the side of the house so it may finally be properly potted and trained. It’s been languishing in that 24" can for the past thirty years. Photo stops were made when fatigue was sufficient to require a “rest”.
Thanks. I’m really liking it, too. I dunno. That all depends upon how heavily it flowers and how healthy it is elsewhere. Once it puts out enough growth, I have to propagate it. There appears to be average vigor there, but it’s difficult to measure because each time it’s put on size, the danged squirrel has eaten it. The bloom stood up pretty well to last night’s rain.

I guess I have to bud it to push it along. Thankfully, I have the VI IXL and VI Fortuniana, though I have to practice both, particularly the Fortuniana. Once there is material of it, they will be available to share. Nothing is proprietary with me!
