Peter Jerabek in the recent Newsletter says that his father tried to produce healthy varieties ("Blackspot?
He was my mentor when I started hybridizing in the early 70s. He would answer all questions on postcards. I kept the postcards; but about a year ago, I looked for them and could not find them.
The plants he sent me were named after his family members. They appeared to be similar to The Fairy. I no longer have them, and I also do not any roses of my own that are offspring of them.
The only one I grow is ‘Women in Military’.
It’s a surprisingly good rose for me. I’ve noted a hint of mildew at times.
I would love to know if it truly is Blackspot resistant.
