Paul, yes, you very well could be correct regarding the high humidity factor, especially as much water surrounds me and my yard is also very sheltered and closed in, especially the backyard. Come to think of it, the roses in the front yard (where the air circulation is better) are for the most part looking much more healthy. Otherwise, as it is, the disease pressure is really putting a kink in my bit of rose breeding work, I almost feel like reaching for and throwing in the towel, lol … though, I hope better things are in store from this year’s crosses and my change in direction.
jbergeson … yes, indeed, ‘Morden Sunrise’ and it’s offspring are frustratingly lovely … my ‘MS’ is loaded with hips from intentional crosses that still hold out promise for something good.
