Hello rose lovers!
I am Irena Fabjan from Slovenia (Europe), one of you with roses in my heart.
According to the agreement with the site administrator, I can post news about the NEW book (sept.2024) on this site, and I am happy to do so, hoping that it will find the right people who are interested in it.
Something, somewhere up there, suddenly, unexpectedly, called me to HYBRIDISING ROSES. At the beginning - in 2011 - I was already reading about creating new rose varieties through breeding, sowing seeds and all that goes with it.
One day at a Zoom workshop we were discussing books. What do you like to do? What are you passionate about? That’s when it started. I wrote it because I have not come across a recent NEW book with this focus, only one with excerpts or a description of several breeders at the same time.
This book is written from the heart. It has just been released on Amazon in September 2024 and you can find out more about it on the book website and on my FB page under Contacts.

Thank you very much. I will be very grateful for your first questions, and later for your impressions, and I would like to stay in touch with you and other readers. I also invite you to visit my newly created FB page, where the presentation post and some others have been created. The book is written through my story and is not just a to-do list. Such a text would be too dry and would not reflective of me. Thank you for posting on the RHA site, where the best information and opinions in our breeding world are collected. The book has started, the first bonus transfers have been made, thank you. It is important to talk about this - the way of reading books, listening to workshops, etc:
My rose friend Eva, who lectures on essential oils and hydrolates, pointed this out to me when she saw that my book had no pictures. And why aren’t the photos in the book? Because in this workshop all books could be text only. And that’s why I found myself and pinned this part where you can upload photos and other informations that are stored in BONUSES from the website www.BreedYourOwnRose.com. Being a visual and emotional type, I like to see a picture of a rose in high resolution. If there was a picture in this book, it would be of very poor quality because of the paper and the format, which was the same for everyone. I am more satisfied with this display. But now I see what Eva warned me about. That some people might skip certain things because they are different types… but I have to say that I didn’t count on that, because I thought I couldn’t wait to open the bonuses. She told me: ’’Research has shown that 35% of people are are visual, 25% are auditory and 40% are kinaesthetic - emotional types. We are usually a combination of all three, but one stands out more…??
So now I present to you what is hidden in the bonuses and that it is part of the book that breathes with it.
