Interesting read … had to think through the dissolved carbon finding, and decided still full steam ahead with the change a couple years back to raking, shredding and blowing back fall leaf drop into the backyard beds, repeated in spring after cane pruning … as opposed to discarding or composting … don’t amend as a general rule except by this “natural forest shredding method” … though once in awhile (1 / 5 years) black earth surface primer around rose drip line to crown … earth worms do mixing, back won’t.
