Help finding info: Kordana KORoragut PPAF Mini roses

I had replied earlier to this message but it did not appear to post.

My advice is that if you really want to try and

keep this Kordana alive - keep it indoors and

sheltered until the ground is at it’s PEAK best

condition.

I live in Southern Cali and i have probably better

growing conditions yet 3 different sets of Kordanas

have died on me. They are very maintainence heavy

and severely prone to disease, even in the best of

habitats.

These roses are horrible. I’ve had soo much problems

with them and i cannot recommend keeping them for

any reason.

If it is sentimentality you are after - perhaps

a cutting and pressing of the flowers that you

still currently have on the Kordana might suit

you better for a scrapbook memory of your late

loved one. This bush would only disappoint you in

the end if you choose to try and make them grow.

All this in my humble opinion only.

I’ve got two yellow Kordana minis in shallow, broad pots. Both wintered well last year by burying the pots and mounding the plants. Next to Golden Angel these were the most floriferous roses in my garden this past summer. The blooms were exhibition quality, the plants were better than most of my others with respect to disease (but I spray) and the pollen was pretty fertile too. They don’t self-set hips and I haven’t tried them as mothers but the pollen was fertile.

The Kordana roses were bred for indoor use or use in pots on balconies in temperate climates. They are not supposed to be planted out in the garden. For garden use Kordes has another line of disease resistance miniatures (the Lilliputs). Most seem to be bred from groundcover roses, so they’ll probably grow big in SoCal.
