Could someone please explain what the outcome might be if I used Geranium (hybrid Moyesii) with a diploid. Could it produce a tetraploid if used as a seed parent or as a pollen parent. Thanks.

I do not know, but I do know that the pollen isnt well received, in my personal experience (I used tetraploid seed parents). So, try to be judicial when choosing your diploid seed parents.
I too like Roger used Geranium pollen on a R.blanda this year. R.blanda took the pollen well and a hip formed on every attempt. I had an average of 33 seeds per hip.
Mine are still in the warm stratification phase and will be for another month before I start cold stratification.
Then we’ll see how well they germinate and grow.
