My understanding is that the new kordesii are much better than the batch that you and I used.
Now that Pickering is not selling in the U.S., the only source that U.S. buyers have for the newer introductions.
(that I am aware of) is Palentine https://palatineroses.com/roses
I now have over 1000 seeds in the fridge, with about 20 hips still ripening. I won’t have nearly as many seeds as I did in my peak hybridizing years, but not bad for rebooting my program. An advantage of my time off is that I’ve had years to evaluate my seedlings and decide which ones have traits that I want to pass to future seedlings, and I’m very excited about some of the crosses I did this year. The latest crosses harvested are:
(((Magenta x Lilac Charm) x Cafe Ole) x Lilac Charm) x Royal Amethyst
(Apricot Twist x Julia Child) x (Fabulous! X (Schoener’s Nutkana x Coral Dawn))
(Apricot Twist x Julia Child) x Scarlet Moss
(Fabulous! x (Schoener’s Nutkana x Coral Dawn)) x (Apricot Twist x Julia Child)
(Gemini x Prairie Princess) x ?
(Magenta x Lilac Charm) x Mons. Tillier
(Schoener’s Nutkana x Coral Dawn) x Apricot Twist
(Schoener’s Nutkana x Coral Dawn) x Lasting Love
(Schoener’s Nutkana x Coral Dawn) x Soeur Therese
Apricot Twist x Soeur Therese
Midnight Blue x Plum Frost
Midnight Blue x Rose Gilardi
Rhapsody in Blue x Rose Gilardi
I won’t know my favorite crosses until I see what seedlings my crosses produce , but these are the ones I’m most excited about:
(((Magenta x Lilac Charm) x Cafe Ole) x Midnight Blue) x (Lilac Charm x Purple Heart)
(Apricot Twist x Julia Child) x ((Magenta x Lilac Charm) x Apricot Twist)
(Apricot Twist x Julia Child) x ((Magenta x Lilac Charm) x Julia Child)

David, did you try the “Enable BBCode by default” option? When you edit a post, is the “Disable BBCode” option checked?
Henry,
Chamblees Rose Nursery in Texas, has quite a nice selection of Kordes roses. Many are introductions from the last ten years. They are all ownroot and very reasonably priced. The 2016 catalog should be coming out very soon. I bought some last year and was very pleased. Chamblees has always been highly praised on the Garden Web rose forums. I plan to buy 2 or 3 this year also, one of the newer Kordes floribundas is thornless! Always a big plus for me. Chamblees also has a web site so you can browse on the computer.
