In my first year (I started rose hybridizing last summer), after having more than 400 seedlings through the Scandinavian winter with my growing lights, lots of care and expectation, I was gladly surprised this summer as some of my seedlings that did not bloom prematurely, decided to bloom. There are definitely a dosen promissing seedlings that I will follow and see what it will bring when they mature. Such a joy to see that it is possible to create a new rose bush! Lots of work, but very rewarding when it works! Here one of my favorits: Quite a big rose. The center of the rose is not as symmetrical as I would wish, but there is always a start, who knows it will get better.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL seedling bloom!! Is it scented; I always want these shell-pinks to smell nice too.
Thank you so much! Glad that you liked it. I have noticed a very light tea scent from it.
I have planted it in the garden for now to check the disease resistance level of this rose.
I will be checking on the scent in the future, although I do not think that it will improve.
Alone the fact that it survived and gave me such a big bloom, was for me a great achievement. I will post a follow up on the scent in the future and let you know.
