Experiment with Art Nouveau's petal defect characteristic

Thank you for the long answer, as I can only get Rosa Andrew and there isnt even a picture of it on HMF let alone lineage… I needed to know I had a good chance of getting the defect if I invested in this rose

Here you go mate, unfortunately can’t help you with the lineage at the moment but I’ll see what I can do!

Thank you, I was aware it was available through their website as I have signed up to know when it was available. Sadly as I don’t know if it’s viable with pollen or as a mother Im not keen… I really want Art Noveu its ancestor as we know that it plays ball and is prettier in my opinion. On Art Noveu I have emailed a niche rose grower who used to sell it to see if they still have a plant. Luckily they also are the only company that sells another rose I want

That makes sense! Mind if I ask who the niche company are?

“Jones the rose” is the website name. If you ask as well then maybe it will help increase the chances of them bringing it back into commerce… High demand

I can’t remember who asked me about whether the deformed petal of Art Nouveau could be inherited. I just ran across this photo of First Impression (Sproul, fertile triploid) X Art Nouveau.

So, yes, depending upon what it’s mated to, the defect can be transmitted.
