My next door neighbor has this rose that I’m 99% sure is Double Delight. He doesn’t know as it was there when he bought the house. I’ve taken several cuttings and it roots crazy easy. It’s also growing some nice OP hips I might snag. It opens yellow with pink tips, sometimes is mostly pink then always fades to white. Pretty resilient to cold too.
Can anyone confirm? If I use it in breeding I would want to make sure I have the lineage right.
I grow DD, and my first impression is that the yellow in your pictures is just a little too saturated. Here, at least, the yellow is more muted.
Smell fresh blooms. If it has a heavy, “sticky sweet” scent, it may be DD, though the foliage looks a bit too semi glossy from what I remember and the flowers are a bit yellow upon opening. Perhaps where I’m experienced with it, it’s be? The foliage isn’t dark enough to be Cherry Parfait. If it isn’t strongly scented, perhaps Lim/Twomey’s Love & Peace? Thanks. I’m it is in fact probably Bright Spirit. An annoying thing about identifying a hybrid tea is nobody posts photos after the bloom is fully open or fading. The colors look right and the leaves are dead on but I can’t tell if its known to fade to white.
These blooms aren’t as large as HMF lists but 5.5" is probably a perfect show bloom, not from a neglected plant. Luckily it is easy for me to literally reach over the fence and help it a little.
I have to wait for a new round of blooms to do a smell test. I can say it makes a good cut flower and has decent vase life. Setting large hips too.

I have ‘Love and Peace’ as well, and I agree with Dusty…it doesn’t really fade.
Well if its not Bright Spirit aka Love & Peace I guess I’m back to the drawing board. Hmm…
I did a google reverse image search and boy are there a lot of yellow centered pink tipped floribunda/hybrid tea roses. Campfire? I’m sure it would be something pretty easy to buy in the North-East U.S.
Could it be Music Box (‘BAIbox’)?
Music Box is really close although HMF says it only gets to 3’ high and my neighbor’s is +7’ high. Not that HMF is always right of course.
Ok one last stab at this and then I’ll just call it a mystery. Does any one have, had or seen French Perfume? It’s listed at 5’ height but maybe this one is just vigorous.
It’s a Japanese rose that Heirloom sells it but it doesn’t seem like something a Brooklyn resident would have bought. I can’t get a scent off my neighbor’s, even in the morning, but it maybe a scent I just don’t pick up. If its not French Perfume I’m inclined to think it’s one of the Peace decedents but will never know which.
