Hello to all!
Unfortunately, a strong gust of wind has torn off a younger pushed grafting, sprouting began end of March, at the graft union by a tree branch flying right onto it. The grafting is gone, but can a type of cutting still work? The shoot is 35 cm long, powerful and the branching has just begun on several sides. It certainly makes sense to shorten the stem. If so, to what length? Would regrafting also be an option? I first put the shoot in the water with liquid rooting hormones for cuttings.
I would be very grateful for any advice. Many thanks!
Hi @Roseus !
I’m sorry I couldn’t offer any advice on this, I’m too much of a newbie to cuttings and grafting to be of any help.
I am replying to bump this up in the hope that someone more knowledgeable will see your post. I hope the shoot can be salvaged!
Hi SeasideRooftop, that’s very kind of you, thank you very much!
In the meantime, I have tried various ways to save the situation, but unfortunately without succeeding. It was probably clear that there was no rescue. I was very unlucky.
