This is the first year I have actually gotten a hip on Betty Boop. But it has been 6 months, and one particular hip is still green. The rest did not take, or aborted. The sepals were accidently removed, so I have no idea if it is ripe.
Answered my own question: opened the hip a few minutes ago, taking a risk. Inside was a very bright orange and I was pleased to know that. Got 3 huge seeds.

If I recall a conversation with Tom Carruth, I thought he said that Betty Boop was sterile and wouldn’t set hips. Would be great now that you have some seeds if you were able to have some germinate. Keep us posted on the results.
