Yes, sir, that’s the truth! I didn’t know IF we’d get it after last week’s wind storms. Most of the color on the hills blew off and tonight’s rain should knock the rest off. I have to count on my roses, euphorbia, nandina and crepe myrtles to fill in the gaps.
I only have two types of roses that color that much-the hybrid acicularis which knock themselves out and the foliolosa which are a muted purple. What is really nice right now but also will probably disolve in the rain is the pomegranite-gorgeous gold. Or do we count autumnal rust? I do have two showing that distinctive orange color. And just dug out another one today.
Thank you, Jim. Interestingly, I’m finding the seedlings which go deciduous here tend to be some of the healthiest in the long run and provide some of the prettiest fall colors.
Yes sir, I’d had one a long time ago and updated it for this. It would be great if all the sites could agree on one photo server so they were standardized. As long as it isn’t Picasa! This one works OK.
Now you know for 2012. I wish more would post autumn foliage shots on HMF. Too few realize roses can give seasonal color beyond their flowers, even in milder climates.
