Ancestry Viewing Software

I am just starting to get into hybridizing, and I’m interested in seeing the ancestry and children of the roses that I’m interested in working with. As far as I can tell, this information is scattered broadly, and there isn’t an effective way of visually seeing the parents and children in one place at one time.

I have two questions:

First, am I missing something? This seems like information that would be broadly interesting to hybridizers.

Second, if this is indeed a gap, would people be interested in this? I’m a software engineer, and was thinking that in my spare time I could put something together to look at images of parents, children, etc. - and ideally allow the user to navigate up and down the lineage tree and look at the characteristics of the various roses.

If there is interest, any input on useful information (e.g. growth habit, ploidy, etc.) would be helpful.
