2020 Seed Exchange

Feel free to continue this thread for the 2020 non-mysterious seed exchange.

Personally, I can mail in the continental US & hope to have them ready sometime in November/December. OP seeds for the following plants:
R. foliolosa
R. glauca
R. spinosissima
R. nutkana
R. woodsii

and

‘Bonica’
‘Hansa’
‘The Fairy’ (polyantha)
‘Apothecary’s Rose’
‘Bella Nitida’

It might not be totally clear, but the above is an offer and you can PM me with your address if you’re interested in those seeds.

I’m interested in The Fairy and Hansa, partly because of their diploid status which makes them likely to have not self-pollinated. Therefore some potential for interesting and varied OP seedlings?

I would be interested in some Hansa (if there are more after Joe).
Also, is it difficult to germinate Spin seeds? If not I would be interested in those.
Duane

Sorry, forgot Bella Nitidia.
Duane

Duane,
I give the species (and their crosses) 2 years before I toss them. The glaucas definitely take 2 years. I have no anecdotal information on the spinos.

Spins are two years too (same with the diploid yellow pimps), not difficult, just slow if using as seed parent.

I’ve mailed seeds to the people that requested in the PM. I still have more if anyone else is interested.

Well the first package was mailed without a hitch because I went up to the counter. The others were not because I applied postage stamps at the same rate and I guess they got flagged due to “heightened security concerns” because of stamps? If I have a chance, I’ll try to go up to the counter on Thursday when the post office is open again.

No good deed, huh 2020?

Update that I just have to walk up to the USPS counter and mail these in person. Batch went out fine, this time.

I’ll be ready to mail more out in a few weeks. I have plenty. Keep the requests coming in the PM with your address!

Thanks for the update. I had no idea security was so high, and it’s good to know.
(I thought it was just ballots the USPS was purportedly holding up.)
