2017 germinations

Hi Warren,
Would you say it’s unusual to see dwarfism in Brighf as a Button seedlings? My experience has been generally larger shrubs and climbing tendencies when crossed with modern HT, FL and shrubs. Any advice appreciated for potential partners to create smaller statured plants?
Cheers, Hamish

Hi Hamish
I have a few seedlings which are showing dwarfism which has Bright as a Button in their breeding.

Seedling S34 T111

(Kathleen X Pauls Himalayan Musk Rambler) X a seedling of Metis. This seedling is showing climbing characteristics, not a year old and well over 5ft high. This may be useful in the development of cold tolerate climbers.
The first photo is the hybrid seedling S34 T11
The second photograph is the (Kathleen X Pauls Himalayan Musk Rambler.)
The third is the seedling of metis which I used.

The white bloom is a F1 Rugosa Hybrid, S23 T143 (Fru Dagmar Hastrup (T) Type 3 X Elara) .

Hi Warren, when I first opened/looked at this, “Seedling 2016 FS14”, I thought you had gone into Camellia growing/breeding. Very nice, do you think it will stay like that in heat ?

Thanks Dave, yep its heat stable
